  Do you feel like we missed something?

  this last summer i was taking my boat out to the lake to do a little fishing.

  it was early in the morning and the sun was just starting to crest over the eastern mountains as i pulled onto the boat ramp.

  i got out of the truck and my wife and i started to prep the boat for launch into the lake.

  I have no doubt that there are many jws who determine they have all the facts necessary, contract signed and deal closed, but can't figure out what feels wrong, and to try and fix it, continually marginalise what isn't seen, but is known to their soul.

  And it's amazing how when the missing part is realised that nothing can keep that temple of facts together - like when the emperor realises he's naked - no amount of talking will fix it - not only is he naked, but he never had the clothes.

  "and he said to him, 'Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless"

  Great story that emperor one.

  I think you're on to 'something' with that anyway, but I don't know why it has to be a conspiracy. When you think about it, jws can't metabolise other energies, they can't listen to what others say, or "drink" anything if you will - have to stay on a certain side of the gate.

  about a year ago i raised this issue of the bible-writers' apparent belief that the color of one's offspring is determined in part by what you're looking at while you're mating.

  we didn't obtain then what i considered a satisfactory resolution of this problem, so i'm presenting it once again for the forum's consideration:.

  I can easily understand that spiked water can produce colour changes, but that isn't the extent of what is required of the literal interpretor.

  "Of the birds according to their kinds, and of the animals according to their kinds, of every creeping thing of the ground according to its kind, two of every sort.. "

  "Every" - sounds like a big job at any time - the birds too - and at some time less than six thousand years ago, every animal in existence re-established the earth from the same central place.

  Insisting on the factual literacy of the words as they are used is a difficult position to keep up. Have you considered that some goats may have been striped already, and hardy - more so than other more desirable looking ones. Jacob realised it, and thought of using stripes to attract them together, where the same kind would breed?

  i don't read very many watchtowers or awakes, but the oct. 1, 2002 watchtower seems especially concerned with keeping jws in the borg.

  all down through history, men and women have stepped forward and proclaimed that they clearly understand bible prophecy.

  they've all been wrong.

  that's supreme arrogance.. but in the last one hundred years, men of the watchtower have stepped forward and proclaimed that they not only clearly understand bible prophecy, but that they themselves clearly are bible prophecy being unfolded.. they are the latter day fulfillment of noah, abraham, moses, elijah, elisha, ruth, esther, naomi, isaiah, jeremiah, ezekiel, nahum, zephaniah, habukkuk, zechariah, john the baptist, the apostle john and the good parts of the revelation.

  i am a 36 year old father of 2 girls putting himself through night school to get a college degree.

  in my current sociology class we have to do a paper in an interview style of a culture, subculture or group that we know nothing about and are interested in.

  What is with the date 1975? The world was supposed to end.

  Who is Frederick W. Franz? They say, one of God's most holy chosen.

  Does the WatchTower contradict itself? Non-stop.

  Are you really shunned if you are thrown out? Their own children.

  Are you allowed to study any version of the bible or do you have to use study guides? I quote - "Avoid independent thinking".

  Do you have doubts about this religion? No - still the worst I've seen so far.

  It's a story Joseph A. - a story - you know . Even if based on real characters, it's a story - and it has meanings and teachings in it.

  It appears that you want this story to be an undisputable historical fact, or else be "wrong" and can't fit. What is that about?

  the road to god's "truth", divine truth, is the same.

  it takes real, real "effort" before truth, divine truth can be achieved.

  and therefore, they could not give it to us, this divine truth.
